12 Months

It has been a great month! Sophia was doing really well until the end of the month when she got her vaccines…and we all know how that goes. We spent a lot of time outside trying to soak up the fresh air before the “to hot” weather is here.

We had a chance to go to a farm and Sophia loved it. She called anything with fur, “doggy!”

She got to swim in her pool and Nana Deb’s pool for the first time this summer. She met her new canine cousin Ollie and spent some time with her canine cousin Wilson.

As for her development, she is talking up a storm and signing more than ever. She has such a personality. It is showing more now that she is able to express herself beyond her wants and needs. She is a funny girl. If you tell her to do something she doesn’t want to do she will put her finger over her mouth and say, “Shhh!” or point at you and shake her hand up and down and say, “No, No, No” right back at you. She says, “What?” when you say her name. She will also say, “No No” or “O Oh!” when she is about to do something she knows she isn’t supposed to do. She has learned how to take her diaper off. She also has learned to flush the toilet. Mike spent last Friday night fishing rolls of toilet paper out of the toilet. She likes to hide in areas like behind her glider, in closets, and under out bed. Then when you find her she says, “O No” and hits her head. The best (I say this sarcastically) is that she has learned how to pry open the cabinets, turn on our gas stove, and climb the baby gates. So much for baby proofing the house!

Have a great rest of the month!
