Ben came too and we got amazing shots of the kids together but Ben was not going to have any part of the live bunnies.
While we were waiting for the pictures to print we went for a walk in the mall and Sophia spotted the Easter Bunny. The line was to long so I promised her that we would come back and she could sit on the bunnies lap. The week before Easter we went back to visit the Easter Bunny and she told him everything she wanted in her basket including the kind of candy to bring.
The day before Easter we enjoyed coloring eggs outside in the driveway. This is the first year that Sophia could do it all by herself. She loves arts and crafts so this activity was right up her alley. That night Sophia was excited to leave a carrot for the Easter Bunny. About 11:00pm she woke up screaming because the Easter Bunny was going to come into her house. Mike later informed me that I caused the meltdown by telling our 2 1/2 year old that the Easter Bunny was going to come into her house while she slept and leave her goodies. I never thought about the fact she now perceives the Easter Bunny to be a 5 foot something bunny that doesn't talk. OOPS! When she woke up in our bed the next morning she she made Mike go into the other room to check to see if he had come. Once she knew he was there she was happy to run into the living room to see what was there. Of course her Easter basket looked more like a Christmas stocking.
After going through the Easter basket and a giant meltdown that resulted in the family going back to bed for another 2 hours, we made our way outside for an Easter Egg hunt.
Later in the day we went to Nana Deb and Don's for Easter Dinner. Sophia had a blast in the egg challenge. She thought it was great that she could bang eggs together and not get in trouble. Once she was out of the competition she became the designated egg peeler. A few fell into the trash but that was OK....she didn't mind fishing them out (thank god the trash was emptied prior to the competition!

Ben was one of the final competitors in this competition.
Right after the competition we realized that Sophia was running a temperature. So home we went to end Easter 2010 with Tylenol and cuddles from Mommy and Daddy.
