Sophia is going to be a big sister!
Our little person is due to join our family around September 12, 2011.
Sophia was so excited when she found out that we were expecting. She has been wanting a little brother or sister for almost a year. So Mike and I wanted to make telling her a special memory. I had an 16 week ultrasound and Mike and I thought that it would be the perfect time to tell Sophia that she was going to be a big sister. Mike picked her up from school early and brought her to my OB's office. When Mike and Sophia got there they came into the room and immediately she knew that I was pregnant (she watches a lot of the "Baby Story" and knows about ultrasounds.) After she confirmed her suspicions with me she climbed into Mike's lap and just sat and watched the screen. That act of "being shy" lasted only a few minuets and by the end she was standing between my legs with a handful of pictures of "her baby" asking lots of questions.
After the visit we made a trip to "Babies R Us" and purchased some outfits for her new brother or sister. The next day she wore her big sister shirt to school to announce to everyone she was going to be a big sister.
